THE STATEMENT OF FAITH OF INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS PROJECT
- We believe the Bible to be the divine inspired “God breathed” Word of God. (1Tim.3:16; Heb. 4:12 ; 2Pet. 1:19 )
- We believe in ONE GOD, existing in three distinct persons: FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT. (Matt. 3:16,17; Matt. 29:19; Acts 2:32,33; 2 Cor. 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2)
- We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. His preexistence, His virgin birth, His earthly ministry, His death on
the cross, His literal, bodily resurrection, and His glorious and literal return. (Is. 7:14; John 8:58; Luke 1:30-35; Luke 23:26 ; John 19:34 ,35; John 20:27 ; Acts 1:3; 1Cor. 15:4-8; Acts 1:11 ; 1Thess. 5:16-18)
- We believe that the blood of Jesus was shed for the forgiveness of sins, and is the only atonement for sin. (Romans 5:9-11; 1 Peter 1:18,19; Hebrews 9:22)
- We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through faith in the finished work of the cross of Christ. (Eph.2:8,9; Rom. 5:1,2; 2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 9:28)
- We believe in the believer’s assurance of salvation and eternal life by faith in Jesus Christ. (John 10:28; 1 John 5:13; Heb. 13:5)
- We believe in water baptism by immersion as an act of obedience to Christ in the life of the believer, symbolic of the believers identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:38; Romans 6:3-5)
- We believe in the church’s call to mission: sharing the gospel of Christ amongst nations, and people groups, making disciples and planting churches, for the sake of reaching souls for the glory of God. (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8)
- We believe in the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit – to convict mankind of sin, to comfort, to teach, to lead and guide the believer into all truth, and to dwell within and fill the believer, distributing spiritual gifts and ministry gifts to the church to reach the world for Christ. (John 14:15-17,26,27; 16:7-11, Luke 11:13; Eph. 4:11,12; Romans 12:6-8; 1 Cor. 12,14, 1 Pet. 4:10)
